The 38th annual Space Power Workshop sessions include Mission and Program Experience, Power Systems Architecture, Power Management and Distribution (PMAD), Energy Generation, Energy Storage, and Advanced Concepts. The virtual workshop will be held April 19 – 22, 2021, and mPower will be discussing the latest developments of its DragonSCALES(TM) space solar power technology on Tuesday, April 20 at 8:00 AM.
This year’s theme is New Space, which is a new approach to developing Space Vehicles (SV) in addition to our heritage processes for highly reliable Space Vehicles (SV). Rapid growth in the space industry in both the commercial and government sectors is driving this new perspective on space vehicle development and manufacturing. New Space calls for interest in utilization of COTS (commercial off the shelf) parts, advanced high-risk, high-reward components, rapid, low-cost manufacturing methods, and techniques for providing adequate reliability assurance faster, and at lower cost, especially for shorter duration 1-3 year missions. Continued interest in next state-of the-art should positively impact Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) that meet the increasing demands of both the US government and private industry.
